Dr. Pete DeTolve
DVM
Dr. Pete DeTolve has been practicing veterinary medicine for the past 13 years and brings an eclectic mix of experience to the VRCC Emergency Team.
Dr. Pete graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Green!) in 2007, and successfully completed a grueling, year-long internship at a large referral hospital in Sacramento, California. He moved to Colorado shortly after and has immersed himself in all aspects of veterinary medicine in the years that followed.
Dr. Pete has served on the board of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) as North Area Director and completed a year-long leadership academy called Power of Ten (sponsored by CVMA).
Most recently, he led a great and dedicated team as the Medical Director at a very successful general practice in Thornton, Colorado. While all of these endeavors have certainly kept him busy, Dr. Pete has recently rediscovered his true passion for emergency medicine and is excited to serve you and your pets.
When not working in the emergency room, Dr. Pete enjoys spending time with his wife and their many critters at home including many small dogs and a flock of chickens. He has a passion for anything and everything outdoors including fly fishing, whitewater rafting, camping, snowboarding, hiking, and gardening.
