Our facility is comprised of 8 specialty departments including: Cardiology, Dermatology/Allergy, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Oncology/Radiation Therapy, Ophthalmology, and Surgery. With this many board-certified veterinary specialists under one roof, your pet will receive the best care, using state-of-the-art technologies and resources.
Whether you’ve come into VRCC on your own or through a referral from your family veterinarian, you will see the appropriate specialist who is an expert in treating your pet’s particular health concerns. In some cases, our specialists will work together to provide a cohesive treatment plan to identify and treat a specific illness or injury.
Here is an overview of each of our specialties and the types of services they offer:
Cardiology: Our team of board-certified cardiologists diagnoses and offers treatment options for patients with heart disease. By conducting non-invasive tests, we will work with you and your family veterinarian to diagnose and plan a tailored treatment strategy to ensure the best quality of life for your pet.
Dermatology/Allergy: Our extensive team includes a board-certified veterinary dermatology and work in the diagnosis and treatment or management of all skin, coat, ear and nail diseases in animals, including those due to allergic, infectious, hormonal, immune-mediated (auto-immune), congenital, keratinization, neoplastic, idiopathic, unknown or other causes. By using the most advanced methods, our highly skilled Veterinary Dermatologists are able to improve the quality of life for your pet and your family.
Emergency Care: 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care is available to help your pet in life-threatening situations. Even during nights, weekends, and holidays, our team is providing compassionate, lifesaving care to your pet in the event of an emergency. Breathing problems, foreign objects eaten by a pet, broken limbs, seizures, and eye trauma are just a small part of the cases that come through our facility.
Internal Medicine: Our board-certified internal medicine specialists have advanced experience in diseases of the gastrointestinal, urogenital, endocrine and hematologic systems, as well as providing care for patients requiring emergency and intensive critical care. We work closely with your family veterinarian to help provide complete veterinary care for your pet by giving second opinions on difficult cases, providing specialized hospitalization for critically ill patients and performing complex diagnostic procedures. Utilizing digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, MRI, a fully equipped critical care unit and our experienced veterinary staff, we are able to provide the best possible care for your pet.
Neurology/Neurosurgery: Our neurology department is led by our board-certified neurologist who is also a board-certified neurosurgeon. In addition, this department has a veterinary technician that has specialty certifications in anesthesiology and neurology. This powerful team treats patients with disorders of the nervous system, brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles, including epilepsy, ruptured disks, spinal and head injuries, meningitis, neuromuscular disorders and cancer of the nervous system.
Oncology/Radiation Therapy: Our board-certified Oncologists utilize advanced diagnostic technologies including ultrasound, rhinoscopy, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound-guided biopsies and MRIs to facilitate accurate diagnosis, disease staging and prognosis. Our team always works to find multiple treatment options for you to consider for your pet, including surgery, cryosurgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
Ophthalmology: Eyesight is critical for pets, particularly for service dogs and companion animals. Our board certified ophthalmology team uses the most advanced methods to diagnose and treat eye conditions that require their expertise, including blindness, glaucoma or tumors. We offer advanced diagnostic testing on site, including magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasonography, electroretinography, and digital radiography. Our team not only donates time to do free eye exams for service animals, they also provide eye care for hoses at the Littleton Equine Medical Center.
Surgery: As the leading Colorado veterinary surgery team in the Rocky Mountain Region, our surgeons consult and provide complete surgical services including orthopedic, oncologic, thoracic, and reconstructive surgeries. The surgical team is frequently called in by other specialty leaders to consult and offer treatment options, as their area of practice can be utilized across so many other areas.
