Cheryl joined VRCC Oncology in July 2007 after having been an Internal Medicine technician at another emergency and referral hospital for eight years. She earned a degree in Psychology at Connecticut College in 1992, and then actually went to work on a horse farm for a while. While still riding horses, she worked her way up the ladder in the retail industry for five years.
In 1998, a career change into the Veterinary field finally felt right and Cheryl moved to Colorado to attend the Bel- Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She graduated and became a CVT in June 1999. Her two male cats, Jache and Ritchey, continually fulfill her daily laughing quota! Some of her favorite activities include spending time with her boys, working out, and dabbling in photography while traveling the world.
Sadie graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and again in 2010 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. She and her husband moved to Colorado from Indiana in November of 2011. Sadie worked in a general practice for four years before pursuing her career in Oncology, and joined the VRCC Oncology team in July of 2014. She lives in Thornton with her husband, their cat, Wednesday, and their goofy corgi, Flynn. When Sadie is not at work, she enjoys spending time with friends and exploring the great outdoors.
Kelly graduated from UNC Greensboro with two bachelor’s degrees – one in Biochemistry and one in Psychology. She joined the VRCC Oncology team in 2016 as a client care coordinator, and has recently taken on the roll of being a co-supervisor for the department. She very much enjoys learning about the different types of cancer pets can be diagnosed with, and the treatment options available. Kelly has a feisty feline named Sasha who is 8 years old, and looks forward to adding a pug to the crew in the future. Outside of work, Kelly loves to travel for music – in particular, she is a big Bassnectar fan!
Alison is originally from Rhode Island. She worked at a veterinary oncology practice out there for 3 years prior to moving to Colorado for snowboarding and the mountains. Alison has been in the field of veterinary medicine for over 10 years, and joined the VRCC Oncology team in 2017. She has a 7 year old pit bull named Henry. Alison loves hiking, gardening, live music, and being outside exploring the great state of Colorado.

She has 4 dogs, 1 cat, and a wonderful Husband of 15 years. Brandy loves to go hiking, reading, and spending time with her family and fur children.
Jessica has been in veterinary medicine sine 2013. She and her husband moved to Colorado from Florida in 2016. They have 3 cats (Joey, Tuna, and Clementine), and a hound/pit bull mix named Jill. In her spare time, Jessica likes to explore Colorado, go hiking, visit breweries and restaurants, and spend time at home with her family relaxing. She loves to take her dog to the park and on other fun adventures. Jessica loves working with the VRCC Oncology team and getting to form a connection with patients and clients.
Makinzie joined the VRCC Oncology team in November of 2018. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute for Animal Technology in December of 2017, and passed her VTNE exam the following March. She was part of the radiology team at another hospital where she gained valuable experience performing CTs, MRIs, and Fluroscopy procedures.
Makinzie was born in Arizona, but has been a Colorado resident since she was 5 years old. She has a 1.5 year old Aussie named Nova (who is the love of her life), and a 6 year old kitty named Kiwi. In her spare time, Makinzie enjoys going to concerts, hiking, and spending time with her friends.
Shantell joined our Oncology team in January 2011. She has been working in the Veterinary field for over 11 years. She shares her life with her husband, Adam, their daughter, Acadia, and their dog, the charming Madd Maxx Rockatanski (an 8 year old mixed breed). In her free time, Shantell enjoys motocross, rock-climbing and rafting. Shantell loves the changing seasons in beautiful Colorado and all that the outdoors has to offer.
