What to Expect
When your appointment is scheduled, our coordinator will
ask for all pertinent client and patient information so that a
file may be ready when you arrive. After checking in at our front
desk, a technician will check a weight on your pet then escort
you to our examination room. The technician will obtain a TPR and
ask you a few brief questions to get an understanding of the reason
for your visit.
The neurologist will obtain a more detailed medical history. After
performing a thorough physical and neurological evaluation Dr.
Lane will spend the remainder of the time discussing findings,
treatment considers causes, diagnostic and treatment options, and
answering questions. Your initial office call is scheduled for
1 hour. Following your visit, a detailed letter will be faxed to
your veterinarian so they have a complete record of your findings
and remain involved in future care.
What to Bring
To make your appointment time more effective there are a few important
items you can bring along with you. A copy of your pets most
recent medical records including blood work, if your veterinarian
has taken recent radiographs these will also be extremely helpful
during the assessment process. radiographs can be costly, but
it may be necessary to repeat them if they are unavailable for
review on the day of your appointment.
Some pet owners keep logs of recent abnormal behavior and illness
patterns; these should accompany the patient to our office as well.
These logs may be extremely helpful in clarifying your pet's illness.
