Communication between client and doctor is the single most important
aspect of our practice but it is often the most frustrating.
We have established the following guidelines, based on our experience,
to facilitate interaction with doctor and client while maintaining
excellent patient care for all.
Dr. Diehl or Dr. Wheeler will communicate any laboratory results
to you as soon as they are available. If you do not hear from your
clinician within five days of your visit, please call us as we
may be having difficulty reaching you.
If you have any questions regarding medication, at-home care or
you are concerned about your pet, please call and ask for one of
the internal medicine technicians. Our technicians, in most cases,
will be able to answer your questions. If they are unable to answer
your questions, they will contact your primary doctor and get the
information that you need.
We have found that we can assist our clients much more efficiently
by using these guidelines. If you have concerns about your pet's
condition after hours, please call and the emergency section's
staff will be able to assist you.
Requests for medication refills need to be made during our business
hours. Please avoid weekend requests; the emergency service must
contact the clinician on call for approval which is time consuming
and can result in treatment delays. If your prescription requires
special formulation, please allow 5 working days to get these prescriptions
filled.
