24 Hour Electro Cardiography

A Holter monitor is a 24-hour EKG. It is used to look for rhythm disturbances that are very intermittent but cause fainting or weakness in otherwise healthy animals. The Holter monitor is placed on the animal as a "backpack," and they wear the device for 24 hours. Animals can even be exercised while wearing this device! We have a Holter monitor in the hospital and can perform this test at any time.
