Lara began working for VRCC in 2005. As VMS Office Manager, she is the glue that keeps the day to day operations together! Lara received her bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Her free time is spent reading and on weekend outings with her toddler and husband. Extra hobbies include cross-stitching, computers, and Dungeons & Dragons. Her home wouldn’t be complete without her German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix Zoe and her sister tuxedo kitties, Buffy & Faith.

Craig’s expertise in all things VRCC helps our team daily! He has been with VRCC since 1999 as a technician and then management, currently focusing on our facility and keeping us up to date and competitive in purchasing. He is currently working on his Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing at Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys motorcycling, scuba diving, and taking his Miniature Pinscher Jabba, Beagle Anakin, and Catahoula mix Winter for fun at the dog park.

John is a native of Pennsylvania, where he started his professional career working at The Children’s Institute, a school for children with neurological impairment and cerebral palsy. After 10 years at the ‘Tute, John completed his MBA and decided to follow his sister and brother to the mountain state of Colorado. He joined the VRCC team as Client Service Manager in August of 2003.

John enjoys masters swimming with his teammates and aspires one day to again participate on a competitive level. John lives in Denver with his cat, Logan (DSH) and likes to spend time with friends and family. John is especially proud of the wonderful work done at VRCC and is glad to be a part of such a great team!

Erik began his career at VRCC in April of 1998 after he graduated from Colorado State University and the Bel Rea Institute.  He is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and teaches children ages 4-16 in the discipline.  He is expanding his repertoire by studying and training in Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jujitsu and mixed Martial Arts.  Erik is the proud father of a 10 yo son with whom he trains martial arts, plays video games, watches movies and builds models with.  Molly, an 11yo Boston Terrier, completes the family.

Miriam Cabrera holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in animal science from Kansas State University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in the Dominican Republic. Miriam has worked with veterinary dermatologists, including Dr. Messinger, from 1994- 2002 in the Orlando area where she managed the Veterinary Dermatology Center. She left the area to manage a general practice in South Florida. Her last year was dedicated to working with a veterinary ophthalmologist where she has expanded her knowledge immensely. Miriam takes great pleasure in working with patients and their human family members as well as referring veterinarians. She is dedicated to excellent client communication and service and compasstionate animal care.

Miriam grew up in Puerto Rico. Miriam and her husband are the “parents” of three cats. She is also fluent in Spanish. Miriam enjoys sewing cross stitching, scrap booking and family life.

A Colorado native, Tammi grew up loving animals. After high school graduation Tammi worked for 10 years in Credit Customer Service and Collections before deciding to return to school to become a veterinary technician. Tammi graduated from Bel-Rea school of Veterinary Technology in September of 1998 and joined the technician staff of CVES in December of the same year. In her spare time Tammi teaches scuba diving and enjoys traveling.

Joan joined the Central Veterinary Emergency Services (CVES) staff in 2003 as Business Specialist. She received her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from The Master’s College in 1993. After moving to Colorado in 1995, she gained experience with an internet start-up before working for the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Colorado Hospital. She then decided to take her experience and knowledge and apply it to animal medicine at CVES.

Joan works in tandem with the management team that consists of Dr. Sam Romano, Dr. Luke Rump, and Tammi Abt to provide management and leadership to the exceptional CVES team of Doctors and Technicians.

Lori began working in the pet care industry in 1979 and has worked exclusively in veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician and manager since 1989.  She has worked with the VRCC Internal Medicine/Daytime Emergency Referral and Triage Service since 1991 and is the Practice Administrator for this department.  Lori graduated from Regis University completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2007 and graduated in December of 2010 with a Master of Business Administration Degree with a specialization in finance and accounting.  Lori has two adult children and enjoys riding her motorcycle, camping, hiking, snowshoeing and home remodeling.  She has a Cattle Dog mix named Jesse and a big, orange cat named Elvis who rules her home.

With an extensive background in administration and sincere love of animals, Diana enjoys keeping the office running smoothly in the Oncology practice. Diana has lived in Colorado for over 40 years and loves spending time outdoors with her husband, Chris and 2 grandsons. She stays busy with rock or ice climbing, hiking, biking, skiing and camping. Diana insists “It’s not just about the activity, but where the activity takes you!” Pepper, her beloved long-hair dachshund rescue, tags along for most of their outdoor adventures. He’s got a lot of spunk and refuses to believe his legs are only 3 inches long.
