Justin
Justin moved to Denver in 2004 from his hometown in northern California. He is currently studying at C.U. Denver for a B.S. of Biology focusing on Pre-Veterinary Medicine. He plans on obtaining his masters in Zoology and a DVM after that. His veterinary interests include exotics, FIV-Ple research, and conservation of endangered species.
Outside of work and school, Justin enjoys volunteering at a variety of animal shelters and getting involved in Denver’s fashion/art scene. Most of all he loves to spend time with his partner and two dogs (Thomas Bosley and Mayble Rose).
Jen
Jen is a native of Colorado and recently obtained her certification of veterinary technician and is furthering her education next fall at CSU. When she is not busy with school and work, she enjoys camping and going to the lake, playing competitive volleyball and hanging out with her boyfriend and three kids Riley(7), Eli(5) and Gabby(8 months old) and Moose her Lab/St. Bernard pup.
Kelly
Kelly is originally from Colorado and has lived here her entire life until a recent move to South Carolina. She previously worked at VRCC from 2007 to 2011. Although she enjoyed the ocean in South Carolina, she missed the people, weather, and places of Colorado, including VRCC, and returned to both Colorado and VRCC in the spring of 2012. She loves the sunshine, mountains, reading, bike riding, and taking long walks with her lab mix, Katie.
Kelsey
Kelsey hails from a long background in animal welfare. She began by volunteering with her local pet rescue organization in her hometown of Simi Valley, CA. After moving to Colorado in 2001, she quickly became an active volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society, later working at the humane society in animal care, foster care, and in the nationally-renowned Training and Behavior Modification Department. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2008, and is very happy to be a part of the amazing team at VRCC!
Kelsey plans to pursue a degree in Conservation and Wildlife Biology with minors in Business Administration and Global Environmental Sustainability at Colorado State University. She hopes to research and improve human-wildlife interactions. Her main interests include behavioral studies, conflict resolution, and sustainability.
Kelsey believes that “home is where my dog is” (and cats, she adds!) and her furry family consists of Dany, a lab/GSD who is a registered therapy dog and reads with children, Callalily, a beautiful torbie cat who has helped Kelsey foster over 200 kittens, and Ayla, a spastic but extremely lovable Abyssinian mix. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, painting, biking, dancing, and cooking yummy food.
Lynette
Lynette is a fourth generation native of Colorado. Prior to joining the team at VRCC in October of 2004, Lynette worked in the Customer Service department for a home electronics firm.
When not attending to all of your pets’ needs, she enjoys cooking, camping, fishing, and competitive volleyball. Lynette shares her home with her husband and two goofy cats, Romy and Anna Michelle. She is very proud to be able to work alongside such dedicated and outstanding professionals.
Melanie
Melanie has worked with various kennels doing everything from cleaning kennels to training dogs to managing the front desk. Her last position was with a mobile vaccine clinic assisting the doctors with vaccines and blood draws. When not working she enjoys spending time with her 3 children, camping, hunting and cuddling with her 2 dachshunds and labrador. She plans to start school in the fall to become a veterinary technician.
Sean
Sean is a native of Colorado who enjoys rock climbing and movies. Sean loves sports with her two favorite teams being the Colorado Rockies and the Oakland Raiders. She is a national certified EMT and is mother to Mochi (St. Bernard Rottie Mix) and Java (German Shepherd/Cattle Dog).
